Hi all I am Stephen Lee, I am a photographer from Singapore. This blog was born out of my passion with photography, my interest are mainly in taking pictures of my family and street photography.
After having my daughter, I feel there is a need to document down her journey through life. I really want to capture all the interactions that she has with all my family members like my grandma, my father, mum and others, for not all of them will be around when she grows up. I want her to know where her roots lie.
I think in general family photography tends to focus a lot on nice things like nice dinners, trips and so on but lesser on family life. I want to capture that as much as possible (before she determines that her weird photographer father should stop taking pictures at home), and hope to leave that to her as my gift when I pass on, so that she will have (hopefully) nice memories and a gift to pass down to her children too.
Punggol is the first place that I got my own house, and there are rapid developments in the area. So primarily I am hoping to document down some of these developments as well as the everyday lives of the people who live here.
Ok this is not really a project but rather after having tried a few kinds of genre, this is one area i want to get better at. I take inspiration from all the great photographers that have come before me at capturing the interesting moments and emotions that occur in everyday life.
